Second outer box of laquered pine wood with inscriptions of a previous owner. Imao Keinen was born in Kyoto where he lived all his life. He was a pupil of Suzuki Hyakunen but studied also other styles. 1868 he opened his own studio and began teaching. Keinen was a important personality in the traditional circles of painters.
