About Us

Since 1964 Hans-Martin Schmitz is one of the leading dealers
in Oriental art in Germany.

We specialize in netsuke, Japanese woodblock prints and paintings,
Buddhist sculpture and various works of art from Japan, China and South-East Asia.

Since 1970 we exhibit at the Cologne Fine Art & Antiques Fair
and at the Antiquarian Book Fair in Stuttgart.

Occasionally we publish catalogues.

We also offer valuations and advice for selling and buying.

We are member of the following trade associations:
Rheinischer Kunsthändler-Verband (Art Dealers Assosiation
of the Rhineland) and therefore member of theBundesverband
des Deutschen Kunst- und Antiquitätenhandels (Federal
Association the German Art and Antiques Trade) and of CINOA
(Confédération Internationale des Négociants en Oevres D'Art)
and Verband Deutscher Antiquare (Association of Antiquarian
